The Winter Challenge, “Parallel Universes,” wrapped this week. One filmmaker finished right on time, two others missed the deadline but are finishing anyway and will screen later. That’s the actual rule here: the deadline is a nudge, not a wall.

We announced a format change for the next challenge too. Shorter window this time, about 7 weeks, kicking off 15.3 with talks from past winners, some screenwriting input, and a Moviesprint screening thrown in.

New pitches: a musician’s alter-ego music video with masked actors and joker-style makeup (big crew needed), an absurdist classical-singing YouTube short concept, and a physics-PhD-unraveling-under-pressure short that wants to shoot in an actual TU Berlin physics building. They also need a cat or dog as a prop, so if you have one, you know where to go.
