Meet Up #197

Another Sunday, another room full of people bringing their ideas, skills and unfinished projects together.

This week we met people from all kinds of backgrounds, heard about a short film exploring fear and anxiety, and watched a few very different projects, from a silent-film trailer to a documentary about a musician.

🎤 Pitches

One filmmaker shared a short film about a man trying to get through his working day while dealing with fear and anxiety. The twist? There’s a voice in his head commenting on everything he does.

The script is already written, and the filmmaker is now looking for people to collaborate with and help bring the story to life. With a runtime of around 25 minutes, it sounds like a project with plenty of room to explore what goes on inside someone’s head.

📽 Screenings

We watched a trailer for Salut de la Obsession, a silent-film story about a writer facing an impossibly difficult deadline. Sometimes you really don't need dialogue to show the pressure someone is under.

We also saw a short documentary about a musician and a music video filmed in India. Three different formats, three different ways of telling a story.
